Ramon Barboza

Ramon Barboza is a trainer and consultant with Guardian Quest in Reno, Nevada. He recently retired from the Reno Police Department as a Sergeant in the Internal Affairs Division. During his 25-year tenure, Ramon worked closely with several COPPS offices throughout the United States. One of his most notable achievements was developing a model community mobilization effort, titled: Project R.E.S.C.U.E. (Residents Encouraging Sage Communities within Urban Environments). This project was nominated for the Dr. Herman Goldstein Award from the Police Executive Research Forum and was referenced in the book Community Policing and Problem-Solving (Strategies and Practices).

Ramon devotes many hours to local and national Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCA, YWCA, Washoe County School District and other youth-based organizations. He has been recognized nationwide for his innovative leadership training with school-based police programs.
