Evan Sorg, PhD
Evan is a former New York City Police Officer, the Principal and lead grant writer for Police Grant Writing LLC, and an Associate Professor of Law and Justice Studies at Rowan University. He has been working with and training law enforcement on topics such as grant writing, for over 10 years. He served as a grant reviewer for the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice and has reviewed manuscripts for over 25 different criminal justice journals. The New Jersey State Police contracted him to complete a statewide gang assessment as part of a $2.1 million dollar COPS Anti- Gang Initiative grant in 2016. He has written one book and has published over 16 academic journal articles and book chapters, most involving the evaluation of policing strategies. Evan combines his practical experience and academic knowledge to write grants that are responsive to the solicitation’s parameters, supported by data analysis and empirical evidence, and tailored to the client’s jurisdictional needs.
