Kelly DeVoll

Lt. Kelly DeVoll is a 29-year veteran of law enforcement, beginning his career with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department in Beaumont, Texas in May 1989. Since entering law enforcement, Kelly has served as a corrections officer, patrol officer, D.A.R.E. officer and supervisor, SWAT operator, forensic crime scene supervisor, patrol sergeant, school resource officer, and law enforcement trainer. He has been teaching law enforcement courses since 1992.

Kelly started working for the Georgetown (Texas) Police Department in July 1998 and served as the agency’s Professional Standards Division Commander, Lead Firearms Instructor, and Emergency Response Team Commander. He was responsible for the development of the tactical team at Georgetown PD and served as Tactical Commander since the team was organized in 2000. In 2015, he was selected to serve on the Command Staff for the Central Texas Regional SWAT Team. In 2017, Kelly was named Citywide Supervisor of the Year for the City of Georgetown.

Kelly retired in the summer of 2018 to teach full time for Calibre Press. Kelly has taught numerous law enforcement courses throughout the United States and Canada, including in-service programming on tactics, firearms, SWAT, and instructor development. He also teaches Crisis Communications for public safety dispatchers. For Calibre Press he teaches Street Survival, Road Wise, Read-Recognize-Respond, Finding the Leader in You, and Tactical Advantage.
