The CTK Group
In 2010, The CTK Group was formed by three active police investigators who shared a passion to get to the truth and a frustration with ineffective training models and recycled misinformation. Our search for answers led us to the most recent research and legal decisions regarding interview and interrogation.
Traditional interview and interrogation training had been limited, outdated, and difficult to execute. Officers around the country were unsure legally and unprepared to step into the interview room. We vowed to be a research and training group of police officers who would train other officers to employ the best game plan available regardless of the assignment, jurisdiction, or crime.
Some law enforcement agencies are not adapting to the rapidly changing landscape of interview and interrogation. Recent research published by the High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group (HIG) regarding enhanced-interrogation techniques clearly shows many universally held techniques used by law enforcement are NOT the most effective way to get to the truth. In fact, those techniques could contribute to false confessions.
Our system of investigative interviewing is on the cutting edge of incorporating evidence-based interview and interrogation methods. We implement a researched-based approach with a foundation in cognitive interviewing, influence and persuasion, and the strategic use of evidence. It is court defensible and produces results.
We believe in what we teach – so much that we promise we will be employing the exact same techniques when we step out of the classroom and return to our individual assignments as active investigators. We will work hard to help you achieve your goal of getting to the truth.
