Description

The decisions made by Drug Task Force Officers and/or Detectives can either make or break a case involving sensitive information pertaining to online drug sales. This 16-hour course will demonstrate how officers can quickly and effectively obtain crucial information and evidence in these cases. Using real world examples and proven, powerful techniques Drug Investigators will learn crucial skills for handling these complaints and investigations of Drug Possession, Sales and Distribution.

All attending Officers will need the following items to attend:

• Laptop Computer (Please open the laptop a day before, start it and go on the internet with it so it can update)

• Overview of various social networks and what information they possess
• Understand how computer/cell phone forensics work
• How to access the Law Enforcement Portals for Social Networks
• Obtain IP’s, screen names, emails, Social Network user I.D. & Cell Phone data
• Learn how to do subpoenas & search warrants for various social networking sites
• Learn about the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA)
• Computer/cell phone forensics and when to seize these items to be analyzed
• When it’s appropriate and not appropriate to contact a suspect in any of the cases
• Examine the various Cell Phone Applications and how people are using them today
• Be able to write Preservations, Subpoenas and Search Warrants for digital.
• Rules of creating UC Drug Accounts
• Understanding the photo and video waivers that MUST be signed by Law Enforcement
• Learn Investigation best practices for undercover photos
• Work actual cases from start to finish in class
