Training Mandates

  • Civil Rights  (every 3 yrs.)
  • Constitutional & Proper Use of authority  (every 3yrs.)
  • Lead Homicide Recertifiction  (24 hrs. credit)

Description

This 3-day course will equip sworn law enforcement professionals with modern skills for cellular records analysis and new communication services and technologies that will greatly enhance their current investigative arsenal.  Students will learn how packet data communication impacts criminal investigations, and how investigators can capture, process, and legally interpret authorized collected data.  Students will also learn how to analyze call detail records in support of cases and how to produce geospatial products that illustrate the range and approximate coverage areas of cellular towers.  This national program is designed for homicide investigators, violent crime detectives, and intelligence analysts.

The course will be conducted by the National Domestic Communications Assistance Center (NDCAC).  NDCAC is a national center organized under the U.S. Department of Justice.  NDCAC is designed as a hub for technological knowledge management that facilitates the sharing of solutions and expertise among law enforcement agencies and strengthens the relationship between public sector law enforcement and the communications industry.  Days 2 and 3 will be conducted by the FBI Cellular Analysis Survey Team (CAST).

  • Mapping cell-site and crime data for tracking criminal activity
  • New Wi-Fi services and how they impact lawful interception
