Law Enforcement Instructor Development
Understanding MTU Protocol for Course Approval
Urbana, IL 61802 + Google Map
Certification
This course is pending certification by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
Description
This course is designed for both the trainer and the department alike. This course is designed to help teach the trainer, or anyone who would like to be a trainer, what they need to do in order to get their class approved by the state. Emphasis is not only on what they need to do but why they need to do it.
With so many state mandated courses, having in-service training enables the departments to save on overtime by having their training officers work with fellow officers to get mandates covered. It also helps by embedding training officers and the material into the organizational structure.
This is a workshop. The first half of the day will be spent receiving information. The second half of the day will be spent working on your outline and putting information together so that you can turn it at the end of class. This is your opportunity to have someone help you walk through the process with you AND get as many class mandates as you can. Many departments have some in-service training in place but they are not certifying those classes.
If you have a class that you want to teach for the MTU or in-service at your department, this is your opportunity to get the right information to get it certified.
