Description
Over 650 police officers were shot in the line of duty in 2024 including at least 120 in ambush-style attacks, according to the Fraternal Order of Police. In addition, tens of thousands were assaulted and hundreds took their own lives. Attacks on officers are unquestionably on the rise, and many believe those are due to the demonizing vitriol by many with media and political platforms over the last five years. In addition, many officers feel a lack of support from those in power and struggle emotionally as they navigate the current climate.
Tactical protocols, officer awareness, reading people as well as mental and physical routines off duty are an absolute must in order to keep officers alive, well and healthy throughout their careers. Unfortunately, these skills have been largely ignored during these turbulent times.
Today’s Street Survival Seminar: Tactics for Criminal Encounters unapologetically focuses on officer safety and the impact of stress on the average officer. From dealing with deadly threats they face on the street to the many lethal stressors that invade the mental perspective of officers 24/7, our experienced dynamic instructors will offer solutions for survival on the street and at home.
Street Survival® emphasizes proactive tactics, subject/building/vehicle approach protocols and the all-important subject of effective communication skills through the analysis of over 50 video clips of current police/citizen interactions.
